Frakes To Direct

Variety reported Friday that Jonathan Frakes is set to direct a live-action adaptation of Gerry Anderson's supermarionated Thunderbirds, with shooting to start early next year. This follows a North American relaunch of the property for toys (Irwin) and on Tech TV (see 'Thunderbirds on Tech TV'). Frakes (Riker on Next Gen) directed Star Trek: Insurrection and Star Trek: First Contact, among others. We say Supermarionation Is Go!
