Fantasy Flight Games will release
Horus Heresy, a new board game set in Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000 universe, in March.
It recreates the battle between the forces of the rebellious Warmaster Horus and the Emperor.
FFG released Warhammer: Chaos in the Old World, a big box board game based on GW’s Warhammer Fantasy universe this fall (see “Warhammer Board Game”). This is its first board game in the 40k universe.
The board provides a map of Terra around the
Imperial Palace, with 10 plastic terrain pieces used to create a 3D battlefield.
The game employs an order and initiative system; and a card-driven combat system that uses 200 cards. The six scenarios included offer experiences that differ in difficulty and style, including “Brother Against Brother,” recommended for new players.
Over 100 plastic miniatures add to the experience.
This two-player big box game will carry an MSRP of $99.95.
