Avatar drew a Golden Globe nomination for Best Feature – Drama and a Best Director nomination for James Cameron in the 67th list of nominees announced Thursday.  It’s up against The Hurt Locker (directed by Cameron ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow), Inglourious Basterds, Precious, and Up in the Air. 

In the Animated Feature category, Hayao Miyazaki’s Ponyo on a Cliff by the Sea was notable by its absence in the field of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Princess and the Frog, and Up.
