Petroglyph Games will release Panzer General: Allied Assault, a “light” WWII wargame based on the Ubisoft game for Xbox Live Arcade, this month.  The game play uses the XBLA game rules, modified for face-to-face play, and uses elements from both card and board games.

Panzer General: Allied Assault is for one to two players, and offers over 12 scenarios covering the period from D-Day to the invasion of Germany in 1945.

The $60 game includes 36 geomorphic game board tiles, tracker board, 240 cards, counters, a 28-page Rules & Combat Scenarios booklet and one Turn Sequence Board.

Although there’s some creative talent in common, Panzer General: Allied Assault is connected only by name and theme to the old SSI Panzer General games; game play is totally new.
