James Bobin, co-creator of the hit cable comedy Flight of the Conchords, has agreed to direct The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made for Walt Disney Pictures.  Muppets maven Jason Segel, who plays a key role on the TV series How I Met Your Mother and wrote the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall, wrote the screenplay for the new Muppets movie (see “The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made”).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new Muppet movie is a priority for Disney as it fits in with their plans to create more “branded entertainment.”
