Computer game and boardgame publisher Petroglyph announced two upcoming releases for 2010 at the Gama Trade Show:  Guardians of Graxia and Panzer General:  Russian Assault.

The Panzer General game system takes a fantasy twist in August’s Guardians of Graxia.  Familiar fantasy races and themes appear on the battlefield for control of the mythical world of Graxia.  Geomorphic board tiles and 240 game cards allow for many play variations.  12 solo and two-player scenarios are included.

The videogame version of Guardians of Graxia is scheduled to release at the same time as the board game.

The game will include 6 plastic Guardian miniatures and 32 control banners, geomorphic board tiles, and playing cards.  Stock number:  PTG20002.  Suggested retail price:  $60.00.  A Deluxe edition is also planned, which will include a code for the PC game and two special promo cards.  Stock number:  PTG20003.  Suggested retail:  $70.00.

In January, Petroglyph released the first Panzer General boardgame, licensed from Ubisoft and designed by Chuck Kroegel (see “Panzer General:  Allied Assault”).  The second game in the series is scheduled for a September 2010 release.  Titled Panzer General:  Russian Assualt, the new title focuses on the tank battles of the Western Front.  Russian Assault will be a stand-alone title, but will be fully compatible with the earlier Allied Assault.

The game will include 80 plastic miniatures, 12 solo and two-player scenarios, over 100 game cards and a geomorphic tile playing board.  Stock number:  PTG20004.  Suggested retail price:  $60.00.

Petroglyph business director James Ward told ICv2 that the company plans extensive online support for both games, including on-line scenarios.
