At last weekend’s MOCCA show in New York City artist Raina Telgemeier told a fan that Del Rey had decided not to publish a second volume of its X-Men Misfits OEL shojo manga series.  ICv2’s query to Del Rey to confirm the story has not yet been returned, but Telgemeier and co-creator Dave Roman have confirmed the cancellation on Deb Aoki’s manga blog and the second volume of X-Men Misfits is no longer listed on Amazon.

Antony Johnston, who wrote the other Del Rey X-Men manga title, Wolverine: Prodigal Son, also confirmed that his series had been cancelled by Del Rey.   Wolverine: Prodigal Son Vol.2 is currently listed as “unavailable” on Amazon.  Johnston confirmed the end of the series on his blog: Despite Wolverine being selected for two library YA lists, despite Misfits making it onto the New York Times Bestsellers list, and not least despite the efforts of Del Rey themselves and our editors there, there just weren’t enough readers to justify the costs.”
