Mark Millar is working with Titan Publishing on the September launch of CLiNT, a newsstand magazine targeting males from 16-30, which will include Millar and John Romita, Jr.’s Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Walls.  The 100-page monthly magazine will also feature comics from BBC Presenter Jonathan Ross and stand-up comedian Frankie Boyle.  The Jonathan Ross contribution sounds like it will consist of (at least at first) reprints of his vampires vs. gangsters Image comic Turf (see “Matthew Vaughn to Direct Turf?”).

On his blog Millar clarified his intentions surrounding the new monthly magazine, which has been described as “Eagle for the 21st Century:” “This isn't aimed at comic stores (though I'm delighted if comic stores want to stock), but instead aimed at the huge potential of a UK mass market, the like of which hasn't really been reached in a generation. Newsagents and supermarkets don't really care about regular pros like me, instead looking for brand names like movie titles and television personalities. Hence the reason I'm launching this with the Kick-Ass sequel and people like Frankie Boyle and Jonathan Ross.”

In addition to four serialized comic strips, the magazine will include interviews and features with lots of coverage of movies, TV, and games targeted to its UK audience. Titan will distribute CliNT to both newsagents and comic shops in the UK, and subscriptions will be available for American fans.
