IDW will launch a multi-volume hardcover series collecting the classic adventure strip X-9:  Secret Agent Corrigan, by Al Williamson and Archie Goodwin, in July.  Williamson and Goodwin, both masters of their craft, collaborated on the strip from 1967 through 1980.  The collection will be in the oversize format IDW used for its Rip Kirby collection, published under its Library of American Comics imprint.

The strips are being shot from Williamson’s personal proofs.  The first volume will include an intro by Mark Schultz, and an essay on X-9’s history by Bruce Canwell.

The character was originally created by Dashiell Hammett and Alex Raymond.

Volume One will come in at 296 pages and retail for $49.99.
