'Mouse Guard' PrequelLaunches in SeptemberPublished: 06/21/2010, Last Updated: 06/22/2010 12:06am Mouse Guard Volume 3: The Black Axe is to be released as a bi-monthly six issue mini-series launching in September (see "New 'Mouse Guard'"). Set in 1115, The Black Axe is a prequel to Mouse Guard Fall 1152 and Mouse Guard Volume 2: Winter 1152 and has Celanawe finally telling Lieam who was the first to use the titular Black Axe. But it's the coming of distant relatives which sends Celanawe off on a quest to far-off lands where he learns the truth behind the legend of Farrer, forger of the Black Axe.
The Eisner Award-winning Mouse Guard is an all ages anthropomorphic epic fantasy series written and drawn by David Peterson.
