Gary Games and Gamer Entertainment have announced that their new deckbuilding game, Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer (see "New Company Plans Deckbuilding Game"), will debut at GenCon from August 5-8 before shipping to retail stores for its official release on August 20th.  The MSRP will be $39.99, which although higher than the single SKU price for a CCG, represents a substantial savings when compared to the total cost of getting into a CCG.

The Ascension game is ready to go right out of the box.  It can be set up in ten minutes with no unique pregame preparation or deckbuilding, and takes just 30 minutes to play.
