The Executive Committees of Baltimore Comic-Con and the Harvey Awards have released the ballot for the 2009 Harvey Awards, which will be presented August 28th in conjunction with Baltimore Comic-Con.  Both nominees and the final Harvey Awards are selected by comics professionals.

The nomination of Diary of a Wimpy Kid in six categories (Best Writer, Best Cartoonist, Best Inker, Best Continuing Series, Best Original Graphic Publication for Younger Readers, and Special Award for Humor in Comics) is drawing considerable attention, including criticism from those who do not consider the books’ combination of text and comic panels comics.
