At the San Diego Comic-Con, Dallas-based Viper Comics is unveiling two new graphic novels, Odd Rods, based on the souped-up hot rod trading cards of the 1960s, and Stu Bear in the 25th Century, an original graphic novel for kids written by Beverly Hills Chihuahua scribe Jeff Bushnell.

The 48-page, full color Odd Rods graphic novel ($5.95) is due out in October.  The wild and crazy hot rods from the Odd Rod Trading Cards from the 1960s are back and speeding into an all-new series of adventures.

Jeff Bushnell’s 80-page, full color Stu Bear in the 25th Century graphic novel ($7.95) is slated for publication in September.  The lazy Stu Bear hibernates a little too long and gets caught in an avalanche and is frozen solid for four centuries.  When he wakes up, he finds humans have devolved into surface-dwelling brutes, while hairless bears and other cool evolved animals live in floating high-tech cities.
