At the San Diego Comic-Con Bandai Entertainment announced the acquisition of two anime series, the 26-episode Tales of the Abyss and the 1999 classic Turn A Gundam.

Tales of the Abyss is based on the 2005 Namco/Bandai PlayStation 2 game that featured character designs by Kosuke Fujishima (Oh My Goddess).  Produced by anime powerhouse Sunrise, Tales of the Abyss aired on Japanese TV in 2008 and 2009.  This high quality series was directed by Kenji Kodama, the primary helmer of the hugely popular (in Japan) Detective Conan anime (released as Case Closed in the U.S.).

The 50-episode Turn A Gundam series debuted in 1999 for the 20th anniversary of the Gundam anime franchise.  It was the last Gundam TV anime to be directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino, the primary creator of the Gundam franchise, and it features an excellent score by Yoko Kanno (Cowboy Bebop).
