Losses at 4Kids Entertainment continued in Q2, the tune of $6.5 million on revenues of $2.5 million.  With roughly $15 million in cash and securities in hand, the company cannot sustain the current losses for long.

Efforts to sell the company continue, although the exclusive negotiating period with a single purchaser that it reported in May has apparently expired without a transaction.  It reports being in discussions with “several companies which may be looking to invest in 4Kids or acquire all or a portion of the company’s business” in its most current financial report.

4Kids has renegotiated its deal with CW on favorable terms, according to the report.

Marketing has begun for Toonzai on CW 4Kids, its rebranded programming block on CW Saturday mornings.  The line-up will include new episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s and Dragon Ball Z Kai, plus Sonic X, Dinosaur King, and classic Yu-Gi-Oh!.

There was no mention of the Chaotic TCG in this quarterly report, after the previous quarter’s report said there were no appreciable revenues from the line (see “4Kids Loses $3.5 Million”).
