The classic post-apocalypse sci-fi role-playing game Gamma World will return yet again in October, in a new edition built using the 4th Edition Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game system.  Supporting products will be released in November and December.

Gamma World was originally published in 1978 by TSR.  Multiple versions of the game followed, with the latest being announced as an October release by Wizards of the Coast.  Inspired by the post-apocalypse science fiction of the 1950s and ‘60s, the game is set on an Earth ravaged by nuclear war.  The players assume the role of humanity’s mutated descendants, struggling to survive in a brutal, lawless world.

D&D Gamma World Roleplaying Game will be a complete stand-alone game.  The base game will be a boxed set including a 160-page book with game rules, character creation guidelines; and an introductory adventure, two sheets of die-cut character and monster tokens, two double-sided battle maps, character sheets, and mutant power cards.

The new Gamma World was designed by Richard Baker and Bruce Cordell.  The suggested retail price will be $39.99.

D&D Gamma World Expansion Kit:  Famine in Far-Go, scheduled for release in November, follows the basic game.  This set includes a 160-page book with a ready-to-play adventure and a collection of mutated foes for the players to confront, along with four sheets of die-cut mutant counters and a fold-out battle map.  Suggested retail price will be $29.99.

In December, the D&D Gamma World Expansion Kit:  Legion of Gold is expected.  This set includes a 160-page book featuring a new adventure and more mutant monsters, four sheets of die-cut mutant counters and a fold-out battle map.  Suggested retail:  $29.99.
