Comic-Con International has announced that the largest pop culture show in America will stay in its current home at the San Diego Convention Center through 2015.  The announcement comes after an extended bidding process during which the show was wooed by Anaheim and Los Angeles, both of which could offer the show the opportunity to expand beyond its current max of 125,000 attendees.  The show has been maxed out since 2007.

San Diego mounted an aggressive defense (see “San Diego Ups Bid for Comic-Con”), which has proven successful.

“We are grateful for the tireless efforts all three cities put into their proposals,” Comic-Con Director of Marketing and Public Relations David Glanzer said.  “In the end, we feel this decision is the best for all those who attend Comic-Con and for the organization itself.  WE are happy that the community has worked with us to ensure that we remain here.”
