From the beginning at the trade hours on Friday, New York Comic Con was a rocking show, with more booths, more attendees, and more cosplayers than last year’s event.

The outside of the Javits Center before the show started on Friday—decked out with con and sponsor banners.

Ubisoft’s Michael Jackson Experience booth at the entrance to the main hall drew a crowd throughout the show, with fans in costumes often participating in the Michael Jackson dance game, due out for Wii this holiday season.

We’re not exactly sure the connection, but this woman wearing an “Awkward Boner Hug Man” cape was handing out flyers for something totally unrelated at the entrance to the show.

The Hi-Chew King was handing out samples of the yummy treats.

NYCC will never dominate the city to the degree San Diego Comic-Con dominates its city, but there was some signage across from the Javits and banners on some nearby streets.

Because of this year’s merger of New York Comic Con and New York Anime Festival, anime cosplayers were in the house to a greater degree than in previous years.

A nice couple.

Pedo Bear is an Internet meme used as a tag for creepy content.  Getting in front of the Michael Jackson Experience (and winning the dance contest to cheers of “Pedo, Pedo, Pedo”) is going to give some Ubisoft executive heartburn when he/she figures out what happened.
