Viz Media has announced four manga launches for Spring and Summer 2011.  They include:

 

Nura: Risa of the Yokai Clan by Hiroshi Shiibashi. It concerns a seemingly ordinary teenager Rikuo Nura that discovers he’s only three quarters human and periodically will change into a Yokai or supernatural creature.  Nura will be the first manga from Viz to be initially serialized on the Web via its new subscription site (see “Joel Enos on ‘Shonen Jump’”).  Available Feb. 1, 2011.

 

Blue Exorcist by Kato Kazue.  Raised by a famous exorcist Rin Okumura discovers he belongs to Satan’s bloodline and while training to become an exorcist himself must simultaneously fight demons and keep his secret.   Available April 5, 2011

 

Tenjo Tenge by Oh Great.  The school fighting manga was previous published by DC’s CMX imprint where its sexual content was heavily edited (see “CMX Bowdlerizes Tenjho Tenge Manga”).  The Viz editions will be unedited, each volume containing two Japanese volumes, and will include 16 full color pages. Available June 21, 2011

 

La Quinta Camera by Natsume Ono.  In Italy the lives of four single male roommates change when an exchange student moves into the fifth bedroom of their apartment.  Available July 19, 2011

 

The Art of Vampire Knight is a deluxe hardcover featuring full-color artwork by Matsuri Hino, creator of the Vampire Knight manga series, including an extensive gallery, how-to tutorial and an exclusive poster. Available September 6, 2011.
