The dates for the U.S. release of the animated feature Yu-Gi-Oh! 3-D: Beyond the Bonds of Time have now been set.  The film will be shown at 250 3-D equipped theaters in the U.S. on Saturday and Sunday February 26th and 27th and then again the next weekend on March 5th and 6th.  With the number of 3-D releases increasing, securing properly equipped venues is not necessarily a simple task.  4Kids Entertainment plans to release YGO: Beyond the Bonds of Time on home video later in 2011 (see “4Kids Nabs YGO 3-D Feature”).

 

According to the Anime News Network (via animeanime.jp), the distributor Cinedigm is handling the U.S. theatrical distribution of the 49-minute feature in the U.S.  The 2004 animated feature Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie, which earned $19.7 million at the U.S. box office is the third highest-grossing anime movie in American box office history after 1999’s Pokemon: The First Movie ($85.7 million) and Pokemon: The Movie 2000 ($43.8 million).
