Mayfair Games is planning a January release for two board games, London designed by Martin Wallace (Steam, Toledo, Rise of Empires) and Van Helsing created by Frederic Moyersoen (Nuns on the Run).  Both games debuted at Essen in 2010 and received lots of positive buzz.  Mayfair is handling North American distribution of both titles, which will ship to retailers and distributors starting during the first week of January for an on-sale date of Thursday, January 20th, 2011.

London, a Treefrog Game title, offers players the opportunity to rebuild London after the devastating first of 1666.  Over 250 years of the city on the Thames’ history is recreated in this simple, but elegant historical board game, which can be played by 2-4 players, ages 13 and up, in just 90 minutes.

In Van Helsing, a Sirius Products title, one player is Dracula who rummages through his castle searching for his brides, while the other players take on the roles of Van Helsing and his associates who are attempting to search the castle for weapons that will help them defeat Dracula while at the same time trying to avoid being bitten, which will turn them into one of Dracula’s minions (no players are ever out of the game, though they may be forced to change sides).  Van Helsing is designed for 2-5 players, ages ten and up, and can be played in just 45 minutes.
