Bandai America is preparing to unleash classic 'kaiju' monster Godzilla and his infamous rivals on the American public in the spring of 2003.  The line of movie monster action figures includes the classic 1954 Godzilla (look out Raymond Burr!) and six of his highly destructive playpals, such as Mothra, King Ghidorah, Gigan, and DestroyahFour variations of the 180-foot tall Godzilla, including the gaudy 'Burning Godzilla' plus his six rivals will be available in 6.5-inch and 2.5-inch action figures.  Godzilla and friends will also be available in a 3.5-inch format that meshes perfectly with the Godzilla playsets, which are also slated for a spring release.  Suggested retail prices for the figures will range from $5.99 to $19.99.

The Godzilla figures, which are licensed from Toho Co., Ltd., will offer the opportunity of kaiju collecting to a new generation.  The fact that Bandai has gone back to the classic Godzilla will also certainly warm collectors' hearts.  Godzilla toys have always done well in pop culture stores, and this new line-up should also fare well with the collector audience.
