Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, the third and last Christopher Nolan Batman film with Christian Bale (see “’DKR” Is the Last Chapter of Nolan’s Batman Saga”), according to Variety.  She has been rumored to be in the running for a major role in the film for months (see “Top Actresses Vying for ‘Batman’ Roles” and “Batman 3 Casting Underway”), but the specific role was unknown.  

Tom Hardy will play the villain Bane.
