Film director McG’s production company Wonderland Sound and Vision plans to launch a new comic and graphic novel imprint in an attempt to create and exploit “transmedia” properties.  The first Wonderland property is Haunted City, which is based on an idea by screenwriter Chap Taylor and which will be published by Aspen Comics.  Wonderland is also developing Haunted City as a feature film script that, according to Deadline, McG hopes to direct.

McG’s Wonderland production company has some experience creating comics. It has produced comic book versions of its TV shows Supernatural, Chuck, and Human Target, all of which were published by DC Comics. Wonderland even has some “transmedia” experience. In addition to the Supernatural TV show and comic book, Wonderland has also helped in the creation of a 22-episode anime series in Japan as well as with a video game based on the property.
