Better recall that collective sigh of relief from fandom when it appeared that the producers of the new Wonder Woman TV show had listened to fans’ complaints about the shiny blue vinyl pants that made the Amazonian warrior look like she was wearing a cheap Rubies Halloween costume. It turns out that the revised costume that was revealed during a public shoot on Hollywood Boulevard (see “Warners Tweaks Wonder Woman Costume”) is just one of three different sets of Wonder Woman togs that Adrianne Palicki will wear on the new show.

Those shiny blue skintight trousers and blue boots that the fans hated (see “A First Glimpse of the New Wonder Woman”) will be worn, but the two costume designs that have been leaked don't reveal the extent of Wonder Woman's wardrobe.  NBC President Robert Greenblatt told TV Online that “There was an initial outcry about the long pants—you know, skintight pants as opposed to those little shorts worn by Lynda Carter in the original TV series, but the shorts were always planned. They are actually used in the final confrontation when she beats Veronica Cale (Elizabeth Hurley).

No shots of the third costume have been posted yet, but obviously fans, whose taste in superhero costumes always seems to be on the traditional side, are likely to endorse the  leg-revealing short shorts look.

But there are some things that are more important than Wonder Woman’s costume—namely whether fans will actually get to see William Moulton Marston’s most famous creation in action on the TV screens in the fall. Greenblatt sounded coy, but somewhat positive on the shows prospects, “I’ve been doing this long enough to kono that nothing is a safe bet. Even with the best intentions and the best people, you just don’t know until you see it finished—and we’re a few weeks away from that. But it’s getting a lot of attention. A lot.”
