After several weeks of rumors, it now appears that Michael Clarke Duncan will bring his booming baritone to the character of Kilowog in Martin Campbell’s Green Lantern movie. Duncan, who lent his vocal talents to Dreamworks’ Kung Fu Panda, will be a late addition to the cast of the Warner Bros. tentpole film that debuts on June 17th. Kilowog functions as a tough, no-nonsense trainer for the Green Lantern Corps.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Duncan received his offer from Warner Bros. on Tuesday and is currently negotiating a deal. If he accepts, Duncan, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in The Green Mile, will join Oscar winner Geoffrey Rush, who signed on two weeks ago to provide the voice of Hal Jordan’s mentor Tomar-Re (see “Geoffrey Rush to Voice Tomar-Re”).
