'Rosario+Vampire' is #1In BookstoresPublished: 05/05/2011 03:39am Viz Media’s Rosario+Vampire was the #1 adult graphic novel title in bookstores in April, according to data compiled by Nielsen BookScan. It was one of nine new titles on the list, and one of eight Viz titles, which had most titles that charted for April.
Black Butler is turning into a real force for Yen Press, which had five volumes in the Top 20 (three of them Black Butler) emphasizing its now undisputed spot as the #2 U.S. manga publisher.
Tokyopop’s Hetalia Axis Powers Vol. 2 was the only other manga title in the Top 20 for April.
The top American title was the most recent Fables volume, which held the #2 slot. The latest volume of Mike Carey’s The Unwritten was the second Vertigo title in the Top 20.
Two Scott Pilgrim volumes, a The Walking Dead volume, and Watchmen made up the American perennial cohort in the April Top 20.
