As Marvel warned in an SEC filing last week, Stan Lee has filed suit against the company over his profit participation in movies based on Marvel characters.  The suit was filed Tuesday in Manhattan federal court.  It called Marvel's plans to avoid paying Lee profit participation a 'shameful scheme,' now that it has 'hit the jackpot' with its movies.  The suit is based on a 1998 employment contract, in which Marvel promised to pay Lee 10% of any profits generated from its movie and TV productions.

Marvel released a statement which said in part, 'Marvel believes it is in full compliance with, and current on all payments due under, the terms of Mr. Lee's employment agreement and will continue to be so in the future.'
