Zack Snyder has chosen the beautiful and talented Julia Ormond to play Superman’s Kryptonian mother Lara in the Superman reboot, Man of Steel.  Both sets of Supes’ parents, his biological parents Jor-El (Russell Crowe) and Lara Lor-Van (Ormond) and his adoptive Earth parents Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner) and Martha Kent (Diane Lane) have now been cast.  The talented quartet joins Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as the villainous General Zod, and Antje Traue as Zod’s female aide, Faora.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, secrecy on the project remains tight with Diane Lane reporting that she “had to read the script under lock and key.”  Snyder expects to begin filming The Man of Steel in August in Vancouver.
