Warner Bros. has acquired the rights to Undying Love, a hardboiled contemporary vampire saga created by Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman and published by Image Comics.  Set in Hong Kong, the eight issue miniseries, which debuted in April, focuses on an unlikely love affair between a tough-as-nails ex GI and a beautiful Chinese woman, who happens to be a vampire.  In order for the couple to be together, Mei must be cured, which means they have to first track down and kill the vampire who infected her.

Unfortunately the perpetrator is one extremely nasty bloodsucker, and along the way the couple encounters all sorts of monsters from Chinese folklore that have to be dealt with as well as a number of very threatening vampires.  The result is a sort of cross between Twilight and a John Woo movie with lots of gunplay and gore, so the appeal to Hollywood is obvious.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stephen L’Heureux and Benderspink, which has optioned a number of comic book properties including Continuum, DevaShard, and Zombies of Mass Destruction, are producing.
