Warner Bros. has announced that the studio is delaying the release of Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot, The Man of Steel, from December of 2012 to June 14th of 2013.  Snyder’s film is set to begin shooting this summer in Chicago with Henry Cavill starring as Superman and Amy Adams as Lois Lane.

Variety notes that this will make three major films that are slated to debut during June of 2013.  Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University, the sequel to Monsters, Inc. will hit theaters on June 21st, and Universal has the Dark Horse comic-based R.I.P.D. starring Ryan Reynolds set for a June 28th bow.  On the flip side, in June Supes won't have to compete with Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which opens in December of 2012.
