Nickelodeon has acquired worldwide broadcasting rights to the Monsuno anime series under a new distribution agreement with the property’s rights holders Jakks Pacific and Dentsu Entertainment (see “Jakks, Dentsu Co-Production”).  The 52-episode cartoon series, which was developed with the help of the creator of Bakugan Battle Brawlers  Mitsuhara Inoue, is targeted at boys from 6-11 and Nickelodeon plans to launch the series in North America in the spring of 2012.

Jakks Pacific, the master toy licensor for the property, plans to begin rolling out its Monsuno toy line in the spring.  The Topps Company, which has an investment stake in the property (see “Topps Investing in Monsuno Anime” ), is creating a trading card game as well as confectionary items based on Monsuno.
