Comic-Con News. Oni Press announced that the SyFy Network has optioned Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt’s supernatural western The Sixth Gun.  SyFy plans on producing a 6-episode miniseries that would cover the first arc of the comic book.  If the miniseries gets decent ratings, then The Sixth Gun would proceed as a regular cable series.

The Sixth Gun is one of the most interesting and original western comics in years. Its success has landed Cullen Bunn a well-deserved exclusive writing contract with Marvel (see “Marvel Saves the Best for Last”).  Set in the darkest days of the Civil War, wicked cutthroats acquire six pistols, which have supernatural powers.  “The Sixth Gun,” which is the most powerful vanishes and turns up in the possession of an innocent girl.  Only Drake Sinclair, a gunfighter with a checkered past, stands between the girl and the power hungry forces that will do anything to acquire “The Sixth Gun.”
