Fantasy Flight Games is releasing a new edition of Tom Jolly’s classic Wiz-War (MSRP $49.95), a delightful board game of magical mayhem.  Wiz-War debuted way back in 1983 and it has delighted players for decades with its light tone, and fast imaginative play.  Wiz-War is designed for 2-4 players who pit their wizards against each other in a fast-moving struggle for magical mastery.  Players win the game by stealing each other’s treasures and hauling them back to their base, or by scoring points by blasting the other players’ wizards.  The last wizard standing always wins.

FFG’s new version of Wiz-War stays true to the original game, which spawned an entire genre of board games, but this edition also offers subtle enhancements created by Kevin Wilson and Tom Jolly that promote faster play and clarify card effects.  The new game, which is set in a magical labyrinth that players construct from maze sector boards, also offers an enriched array of spells.
