Dust Games, which recently acquired the rights to Legacy Miniatures and the license to the entire Confrontation miniatures game back catalog, has begun reintroducing the Confrontation miniatures line to the U.S. market with two very exclusive limited release figures introduced at Gen Con: the never-before-seen Hydra, and the rare Flesh Golem. ICv2 caught up with David Preti from Dust Games at Gen Con.

“We want to give the [Confrontation] fan base of painters and players pieces they have never seen,” Preti said. “But we don’t know how the market will react because Rackham was a very troubled story and we don’t know if the market is ready to see it again.”

Working exclusively with CoolMiniOrNot, the plan is for Dust Games to produce limited runs – setting sights on the U.S. Market.

“We think that Rackham never exploited the U.S Market in the past…” Preti continued, … “and we think that working with CoolMiniOrNot is the best thing to do because they know how to do the job.”

The Hydra miniature was one of the many unproduced miniatures when Rackham liquidated in 2009. The Flesh Golem was a previously released miniature but in a slightly different format. The new figure has three different build variations on the original design. Both miniatures have extremely limited runs of 300, and are pricey due to the limited run and the high quality resin used for the miniatures. The Hydra retails for $119.00. The Flesh Golem retails for $79.99. Each miniature also comes with a 3.5” card so that players can add the character to their army.

Wave 2 will include some top sellers from the past, and Wave 3 will have brand new figures. After around six months, Dust will evaluate the reception and decide whether to expand the range and the number of miniature lines being produced. At the time of this writing, the Hydra has sold through 75% of its limited run and the Flesh Golem has sold through 65%.
