There’s still a chance for a Kick-Ass 2 movie with the original cast, creator Mark Millar told Hero Complex, but "…there’s a window because the actors are all supposed to be in high school and if this came out after 2013… that window would have closed."  Millar said he does not expect director Matthew Vaughn or writer Jane Goldman to return to a sequel, because due to the success of Kick-Ass, "…they’re superstars now and they have projects of their own."
A year ago, Millar was still thinking Vaughn could do the sequel at some point (see "'Kick-Ass' Sequel Start Nine Months Away"), although the economics were already clear.
Millar also clarified his plans for the Kick-Ass comics: he said he plans a trilogy of books, plus two volumes of Hit-Girl.
