The strong ratings earned by Smallville has the folks at the WB network thinking that they can duplicate the success of chronicling Superman's 'difficult years,' with a series based on a teenage Tarzan's struggle to adjust to the modern world when he is brought back to his childhood home in New York.  Today's Hollywood Reporter includes a story about the new take on the teenage years of Edgar Rice Burroughs' jungle hero.  Top TV director David Nutter is set to direct the pilot episode for this 'fish out of water' drama that centers on young Tarzan's relationships with his uncle, his love interest Jane, and a tough New York police detective.
