Kelly Asbury has been hired to write a script for an animated adaptation of the Paul Gilligan comic strip Pooch Cafe, according to Hollywood Reporter. Asbury has worked on numerous animated features in a variety of roles over the past two decades, including Nightmare before Christmas (assistant art director), Beauty and the Beast (writer), Shrek 2 (director), and Gnomeo and Juliet (director, co-writer). Sony Pictures Animation is making the film.
