Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Entertainment have extended Mattel as master toy licensee for DC properties in a new multi-year deal.  The deal provides that Mattel produce toy lines for The Dark Knight Rises (2012) and Man of Steel (2013); for Green Lantern: The Animated Series (joining Young Justice as another animation-based line); and future movies and animation projects.

Mattel will have “unprecedented” access to over 1000 DC characters.  Mattel is producing DC products across all of its core brands, including Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Barbie, Mattel Games, and Fisher-Price. 

Mattel also announced that it is partnering with Diamond Comic Distributors for exclusive distribution of its DC Comics 6” action figure in Europe.
