Twilight actress Kristen Stewart has been offered the role of Ky Reed in Warner Bros.’ Akira feature, according to Hollywood Reporter, which took pains to describe the talks as not “advanced.”  Although no cast members have been confirmed, many have been mentioned, with Gerrett Hedlund perhaps the furthest along, in negotiations to play Kaneda (see “’Akira’ Casting”).

The film, with Jaume Collet-Serra as director (see “Jaume Collet-Serra to Helm Akira”) will be based on the Kodansha manga.
