And New Writer

Published: 01/19/2012 01:57am
The feature film based on Jeff Smith's Bone has a director and a new writer, according to Hollywood Reporter, moving it closer than ever to production. P.J. Hogan (My Best Friend's Wedding, Confessions of a Shopaholic) is now attached to direct, while Patrick Sean Smith is writing a new script.  Smith is best known as the creator of TV series Greek.  This is his first feature writing assignment.
There was an earlier script by Justin Monjo.  Lin Pictures and Animal Logic are producing (see "'Bone' Movie Could Be Closer than You Think").
Hogan and Animal Logic are both from Australia, where the film's production is expected to take place.  Animal Logic was the animation house on Happy Feet 2, among others.
