The ever-growing line of Munchkin expansions and variants is expected to thin slightly during 2012.  A number of products in the line will be allowed to go out of print as current inventory is depleted, while six new titles are scheduled to release later in the year.

The items currently expected to go out of print this year include Munchkin Fu, Munchkin Fu 2 – Monky Business, Munchkin Jumbo d6, Munchkin Jolly Jumbo d6, Munchkin Fairy Dust, Munchkinomicon, Munchkin Waiting for Santa, Munchkin Marked for Death, and Munchkin Go Up a Level.  However, because product availability will be determined by sales, Steve Jackson Games cannot predict the exact date when products will go out of print, or even which products will go out of print.

Most of the expansions that will go out of print will be re-released in the future, according to “Munchkin Czar” Andrew Hackard.  The date that they will return to the line cannot be set before they go out of print, but these reprints are not expected before 2013.

Munchkin-based accessories, such as the Jolly Jumbo d6, and any expansions originally released only in booster pack format like Munchkinomicon will not be re-released.  These products had always been planned as single-printing projects.

New Munchkin products currently planned for 2012 include new core sets Munchkin Conan and Munchkin Apocalypse, expansions Munchkin 8 – Half Horse, Will Travel, The Good, the Bad, and the Munchkin 2 – Beating a Dead Horse, and Munchkin Zombies 3, as well as a 15-card booster pack expansion called Munchkin The Guild (see “Munchkin: The Guild”).
