ICv2 has learned that Cryptozoic Entertainment plans to ship its Big Bang Theory Party Game (MSRP $29.99) to retailers in April.  This game was originally announced last year when it was known as Bazinga! (see “Bazinga! Big Bang Theory Party Game”). I t’s a testament to how popular the Big Bang Theory TV series has become that the game has shed its former insider-friendly monicker (“Bazinga” is the series’ lead character Sheldon’s “gotcha” expression) in favor of a more easily identifiable title.  The Big Bang Theory is not only CBS’s most popular sitcom, it has reached near iconic status among the comic and gaming geeks whose culture the show celebrates.

Cryptozoic’s Big Bang Theory Party Game utilizes 325 cards to capture the pop culture references and social situations at the heart of the TV series’ success.  Players get to match different cards together to create funny hypothetical situations.  The fast-moving game (30 minutes) is designed for between 3 to 6 players ages 15 and up.  In addition to the 325 cards, the deluxe Big Bang Theory Party Game box (8.5” x 8.5” x 4”) includes 60 scoring tokens, 6 experimental formula card sleeves, and a rulebook.
