Geppi’s Entertainment Museum in Baltimore has announced a special exhibit, "Milestones: African Americans in Comics, Pop Culture and Beyond," to be curated by Michael Davis, co-founder of Milestone Media.  The exhibit will open February 1, 2013 for Black History Month, and run until March 1, 2014.  It will feature African American creators, as well as showcasing the contributions of publishing executives at the major houses.  There will be sections devoted to major publishers such as Marvel, DC, and Dark Horse, displaying their progress and mistakes over the years in moving toward a level racial playing field.
"This show will shine a spotlight on a segment of Black creativity rarely seen by the mainstream," Davis said.
"If comics are modern mythology, then black participation and representation is crucial," filmmaker and comic writer Reggie Hudlin said of the exhibit.  "The Milestones exhibit will document those dreams on paper through the years."
