ICv2 had an opportunity to talk to Jason Hill of Flying Frog Productions at the recent GAMA Trade Show about the company’s new release plans for 2012, which included new details about the expansion sets planned for Last Night on Earth, A Touch of Evil, and Conquest of Planet Earth.  Flying Frog originally previewed these expansions at last year’s Gen Con (see “ ‘Fortune & Glory,’ New Pulp Heroes Game”).

Last Night on Earth
Last Night on Earth: Timber Peak will be a stand-alone expansion for the popular zombie-fighting game.  It can be combined with the existing base set and expansions, or it can be used on its own.  Timber Peak features a new town for the game, with a logging and mining theme.  Six new heroes are supplied, along with new zombie and hero decks that have backs identical to the earlier game so they can be combined easily.  A new experience system is also added to the game, allowing heroes to gain skills as they kill zombies.

Last Night on Earth: Timber Peak is scheduled to release this fall.  The suggested retail price will be $49.95.

Another Last Night on Earth expansion is planned for early 2013.  Called Blood in the Forest, this expansion is designed for use with Timber Peak, but can be combined with any Last Night on Earth set.  Blood in the Forest includes a complete new board that features remote forest locations, such as a Ranger post, as well as new “feral zombies” that are faster and hungrier than the traditional zombies.  The suggested retail price will be $39.95.

A Touch of Evil
A Touch of Evil: the Coast will be the second big box expansion for Flying Frog’s game of the supernatural, and it has a coastal and nautical theme.  The expansion offers a new map with coastal locations such as a pirate cove and shipwreck, and a fishing village called Tidewater.  New town elders are featured, along with new elder secrets, new villains, and four new heroes to play.

A Touch of Evil: The Coast is also planned for release in the fall.  The suggested retail price will be $39.95.

Hero Pack 2 for A Touch of Evil is also planned for this fall.  This small expansion includes four new heroes, including a displaced French diplomat and a swashbuckling privateer, as well as a new villain to confront. Suggested retail: $24.95.

Conquest of Planet Earth
Conquest of Planet Earth: Apocalypse expands the game to allow up to six players.  New cards are added to all existing decks, and new alien races are added to the game.  The “Martian Confederacy” from Invasion From Outer Space appears in the game for the first time.  Apocalypse also includes new allies to help the invaders, and features a coastal water theme with a new “Coastal Resistance Deck” that adds naval ships, submarines, and jet fighters to the Earth’s defenses.

Conquest of Planet Earth: Apocalypse is scheduled to release in late summer or early fall.  The suggested retail price will be $39.95.
