IDW Publishing has obtained a license to release all-new Judge Dredd material as well as deluxe reprints of classic material, beginning this fall.  This coincides with Judge Dredd’s 35th year, as well as the release of the movie on September 21st (see “’Dredd’ Movie Debut Set”).

IP owner Rebellion has been releasing classic Judge Dredd material in the States since mid-2010 (see “Rebellion’s U.S. Launch”).  Judge Dredd originated in the pages of the second issue of UK weekly anthology 2000 AD.  The creators were writer John Wagner, artist Carlos Ezquerra, along with editor Pat Mills.

The director of the film was pulled off in post-production (see “Director Off ‘Dredd’”); it’s being completed by writer Alex Garland.
