Signal Fire Studios, founded by game industry veterans Jamie Chambers and Digger Hayes, has announced plans to release four games, designed by some of the hobby’s most experienced talent.

The first release, scheduled for July of 2012 is the Lovecraft-themed card game Building an Elder God.  In this casual card game, players race to assemble their own Cthulhu-ian monstrosity before the others can complete their own.  Designed and illustrated by Ben Mund, Building An Elder God plays in about 30 minutes, and takes two to five players.  The suggested retail price will be $19.99.

In September, Signal Fire plan to release a new edition of James Ward’s classic science fiction role playing game Metamorphosis Alpha. Players assume the roles of primitive mutants fighting for survival in the half-ruined Starship Warden.  Originally published by TSR in 1976, this version has new game mechanics designed by Jamie Chambers.  The 160-page softcover book will have a suggested retail price of $19.99.

Pantheon is a casual card game designed by Timothy Brown, with art by Lindsay Archer.  Each player controls an ancient culture struggling to build temples, advance civilization, and wage war in the name of fickle deities.  Pantheon is expected to release in November, with a suggested retail price of $19.99.

The fourth planned title is another role playing game, called When Shadows Rise. Designed by Lester Smith, this horror-themed game uses a “d13”-based mechanic, and is designed to support any horror sub-genre.  The softcover book will have 160 pages, and is expected to have a retail price of $19.99.

Signal Fire Studios has previously released “print and play” versions of its games.
