The Topps Company has outlined a robust organized play program for the Monsuno Trading Card Game.  Stores wishing to sign up for the program, which includes free event kits through the remainder of the 2012 can visit the monsuno.com Website and sign up to participate in the Monsuno Organized Play Program.  Qualifying stores are added to a Monsuno Locater Service and can have their events promoted on the Monsuno Website.

Starter Set
The recently launched first Monsuno Series I release includes 156 cards.  There are four levels of rarity and a full foil parallel set.   Each 12-card Monsuno Booster Pack (MSRP $3.99) contains on rare card and one foil card. Monsuno Starter Sets (MSRP $12.99) include two 33-card pre-constructed decks, a booster pack, a foil card, and a rules booklet.  Topps plans on releasing three sets per year, and the second release Monsuno Shadow Havoc will be released in July and will contain many new cards with powerful strike abilities and many new Monsuno monsters to the game.  The series is supported by a 52-episode anime series that is currently airing on Nicktoons (see “Monsuno Premieres in February”) as well as a toy line from Jakks Pacific.  Topps was an early investor in the property and has been working on developing the trading card game from the very beginning (see “Topps Investing in Monsuno Anime”).

The Monsuno OP Kits include operations documents explaining how to run a Monsuno tournament, plus complete rules for the game, Monsuno Player ID cards for every participant, special foil cards to give away to participants (these cards are not available for purchase anywhere, and Topps plans to release one new promo card per month), a Monsuno promotional poster (while supplies last), as well as additional items that can be given away as prizes.  Topps will also provide a free 24-pack Monsuno Booster Box to qualifying retailers while supplies last.

At the heart of the Monsuno OP program are the unique Monsuno Player IDs.  Stores report the unique IDs to Topps, which then will track the player’s ongoing performance via the unique Monsuno player ID.  For an event to qualify as a reportable Monsuno event, the event must include at least four participating players.
