The AMC network has renewed The Walking Dead recap show Talking Dead and Kevin Smith’s Comic Book Men for second seasons of 16 episodes each, which will match the network’s order for an expanded 16-episode season of The Walking Dead and will keep the net’s comic book-focused Sunday night block intact for another season.

Talking Dead, which is hosted by the Nerdist’s Chris Hardwick, is AMC’s first live post-show.  It has featured a wide variety of guests including The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, Felicia Day, Zachary Levi (Chuck), and The Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara.  According to The Hollywood Reporter, Talking Dead managed to attract 4.3 million viewers for its discussion of The Walking Dead’s season finale in March.

Smith’s reality series, which is set in his new Jersey comic book shop, will be sliced from one hour to a half-an-hour, but Smith was extremely happy with the renewal, saying: "Pinch my fat ass because I must be dreaming!  A thousand thank yous wouldn’t cover the gratitude I am feeling now."
