DC Comics announced today that it will publish "0" issues for all of the "New 52" titles in September.  The "0" issues will all be "stand-alone" stories that will add to the origin stories or fill in some of the blanks in the resumes of the characters and teams that make up the books.  DC will also add four titles including the Night of the Owls spin-off Talon, the fantasy title Sword of Sorcery, The Phantom Stranger, and Team Seven, which merges Wildstorm and DCU characters.  The four new series will debut in September with "0" issues followed by #1 issues in October.  The rest of DC’s "New 52" will resume their normal numbering in October.

Adding the four new series will  apparently push the number of DC titles released in September past 52, though DC has already announced the August cancellation of Justice League International, and further cancellations could be announced by September.

Talon #0 Partial Cover Design
The new Talon series, which is co-written by Scott Snyder and James Tynion, follows the adventures of Calvin Rose, the only Talon to ever escape the grasp of the Court of the Owls.  Given the popularity of the Court of the Owls saga, this story of a former assassin of the Court attempting to live a normal life could find an audience.

The Sword of Sorcery series, which is written by Christy Marx and drawn by Aaron Lopresti features the return of Amethyst (Amy Winston), while The Phantom Stranger, which is written by Dan Didio and illustrated by Brent Anderson spins out of the current Justice League storyline and documents the true origins of the character and his relationship to the mysterious Pandora.

Team 7 #0
The fourth new title Team Seven from the creative team of writer Justin Jordan and artist Jesus Merino is set in the early days of the "New 52" universe and features a team comprised of heroes from both the old DC and Wildstorm universes including Dinah Lance, Amanda Waller, Steve Trevor, John Lynch, Alex Fairchild, Cole Cash, and Slade Wilson.
